THE ROLE AND FUNCTION OF SOD IN HUMAN HEALTH

Prevention of Oxidative Damage and Lipid Peroxidation

Oxygen Free Radicals are the by-products generated during the normal metabolism of the superfluous components of cell nuclei in the body. They are also increasingly generated in the body due to smoking, stress, exposure to pollution, infection, fatigue, drugs, chemicals, injuries, inflammation, and UV radiation from the sun.

SOD vs Free Radicals

SOD and Oxygen Free Radicals are maintained in a state of equilibrium in a healthy body.

An excess of Oxygen Free Radicals in the body can directly cause oxidative damage to body cells, or react with lipid-rich areas of cell membrane to produce lipid peroxides. Both Oxygen Free Radicals and lipid peroxides can destroy the cell membrane, resulting in the impairment and malfunction of bodily functions such as fluid diffusion, hormone secretion, neuronal transmission, etc. These are the leading causes for the development of many of the modern day chronic diseases. Most scientific researches concluded that for the human body, ageing process is the ultimate cumulative effects of long-term destruction of body cells by Oxygen Free Radicals.

Modern living environment, individual lifestyle and ageing causes an imbalance between SOD and Oxygen Free Radicals, leading to oxidative damage in the body and subsequent development of chronic diseases.

Our modern living environment are both demanding and stressful - Oxygen Free Radicals are ubiquitously and abundantly produced by such environment. It is an essential part of health maintenance that daily supplementation of antioxidant dietary food (enzyme-like processed dietary food) would help us to achieve the role of neutralizing harmful Oxygen Free Radicals and protection of body cells from oxidative damage which leads to the development of chronic diseases.

An appropriate supplementation of SOD-like dietary food can restore the equilibrium, leading to improved health and beauty, and delayed ageing process.

SOD-LIKE PROCESSED DIETARY FOOD

NWANA is a natural dietary food formulated and extracted from natural plant and seed ingredients (soybeans, rice bean, barley, wheat, wheatgerm, sesame, green tea, etc.) which contain rich amount of SOD-like low molecules weight antioxidants such as flavonoids, carotene, alpha-tocopherol, ascorbate, flavoprotein, polyphenols, etc. The powerful synergy of useful antioxidants can effectively eliminate free radicals and prevent the formation of lipid peroxides in the body.

INTERNATIONAL PATENTED MANUFACTURING PROCESS

NWANA is manufactured by first infrared heating the natural ingredients, followed by incubation brewing with the Aspergillus Oryzae (Koji) fungus. These two steps help to separate and liberate the useful antioxidant units and make them into new units with antioxidant activity to be absorbed by the body early. The mixture is then incubated in sesame oil to make these antioxidant units closer to the lipid-base cell membrane.

THE ROLE AND FUNCTION OF INTERNALLY-INDUCED SOD IN AESTHETICS PREVENTION OF PIGMENT SEDIMENTATION

When NIWANA is consumed, the powerful synergy of antioxidant units induce internal SOD activity from within the body which subsequently:

1. Scavenges or neutralizes excessive oxygen free radicals.

2. Inhibits catalysis of tyrosinase and prevents the formation of pigment sedimentation
